Before I started a day full of running around and doing errands in Northampton I snuck away (with my camera in tow!) to one of my very favorite places ever...the Smith College Botanical Gardens! The beauty of the gardens is phenomenal! Rare trees and plants mixed with native species are growing in every corner of the campus. There is a beautiful pond which is always inhabited by ducks, blue herons and turtles, there are a vast amount of woodland trails, a Japanese garden, an amazing greenhouse and more! I spent a good part of the morning walking through the woodland trails...it was so quite and tranquil...just what I needed to start the day!

This squirrel was adorable! I caught him digging in a potted plant in the jungle room and he hid behind the tiniest pot...he totally thought that he was being stealth!
